About Us
Rusty Howard has been involved in dogs for over 30 years. He began competing at dog shows in obedience with his family’s Doberman pinscher.
His attention was soon drawn to the conformation ring
at the shows. He was then introduced to a professional all breed handler
and began working and learning about showing dogs in conformation.
Rusty soon realized that he wanted to make a career of showing dogs
professionally.
Jen Howard has been involved in showing dogs since she was 8 years old. She too, started in dogs with her family and their Weimaraner. Jen’s love of dogs and dog shows, soon led her to begin working with and learning from the breeder of her Weimaraners. She also worked part time with a professional handler.
She knew at a very young age that she wanted to make a career of breeding and showing dogs. Although Jen no longer owns or breeds Weimaraners, she has co owned and/or co bred multiple champions, futurity, maturity and specialty winners.  d Weimaraners.In 2004, Rusty and Jen got married and began showing dogs and breeding Labradors together under the prefix of Waterberry. Together, Rusty and Jen have finished many different breeds of dogs. Everything from, Pugs, Miniature Pinschers and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, to Bedlington Terriers, Border Terriers, Newfoundlands, Dobermans, Bernese Mountain Dogs and of course Labrador Retrievers, Weimaraners, Germans Shorthair Pointers, Golden Retrievers, Flat Coat Retrievers, Pointers and Irish Setters. In the last four years, they have finished over 100 Labradors, which is nearly 10% off all of the Labrador Retrievers that have completed their championships in the last four years! In addition to the Labradors they have finished almost 70 other dogs of the various breeds listed above.
Over the years, Rusty and Jen have won many Groups, as well as multiple All Breed Best in Shows and Specialty Best in Shows with various different breeds of dogs. Rusty won the 1996, 2000 and 2003 Weimaraner Club of America National Specialty shows. He also won the 2003 and 2006 Labrador Retriever Club of America National Specialties. In addition to the National Specialties, in the last five years, Rusty and Jen have won over forty other Labrador Specialties and Supported Entries and close to thirty other Weimaraner Specialties and Supported Entries. Also in the last five years, Rusty and Jen have won over 100 different Groups on the dogs that they have campaigned.
Rusty has won multiple Best of Breeds in Labradors and Weimarners at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and placed in the Sporting Group in 2005.
